Jessica suffers first defeat of competition

Tournament favourite Jessica Woods from Australia today suffered first defeat in group stage when she lost to Amornrat Uamduang of Thailand 3-0. Amornrat commanded well in the beginning and exhibited excellent potting to gain 2-0 lead. Jessica managed to score some points in third frame but Amornrat proved herself more composed to seal third frame as well.

Hossein to wait on Dhvaj's match to confirm top-seed in knockouts

Former World Champion, Hossein Vafaei Ayouri of Iran is looking to obtaining top-seed slot for knockouts but he has to wait for the result of last league match of Dhvaj Haria of India, who has played 3 matches and not yet lost a single frame so far.

Hossein has already completed all his group matches and defeated Daniel Dempsey (Ireland), Alex Pace (Australia), Matheus Fatuch Pontarolli (Brazil) and Ashutosh Padhy (India). The only frame he lost is to Ashutosh. Rest all he won straight.

Keerath Bhandaal enters top-6

Keerath Bhandaal of India has stepped into knockout stage of Last-6 in World Under-21 Snooker.

Keerath has played all three matches of Group A and qualified as no.3. She won only one match against her compatriot Sania Arif. Before that she had lost to Siripaporn Nuanthakhamjan of Thailand and Anastasia Nechaeva of Russia, who remained no.1 and 2 in the group.

Good wins for Aussies

Three Australian players had their morning session matches on day 3 of 2014 IBSF World Under-21 Snooker here at Al-Fujairah and all three registered one-sided win over their opponents.
