IBSF World trophy (Men) retained in Asia for 5th time in row

IBSF World Snooker Men's trophy is now confirmed to stay in Asia for the fifth time in a row. The only player in top 8 of SEAWAYS IBSF World Snooker championship 2014 who was not from Asia was Adrian Ridley of Australia, and the current world No.2 Zhao Xintong of China knocked him out 6-4 from in the quarter-final match been played today morning.

Icing on the cake that Zhao set the highest break of the competition scoring 139 in the ninth frame of this match. He surpassed Gareth Allen's high break of 134.

Adrian started on a good node and at a time he was leading 3-1 and then 4-2. Even he scored a break of 52 points in seventh frame as well but couldn't save the frame. After that Zhao maintained complete consistency in winning next frames including magnificent break of 139 points to knockout Adrian and to keep the trophy for Asia.

Kuwata shocked Asian 6Reds Champion Amir Sarkhosh

Tetsuya Kuwata of Japan shocked the reigning Asian 6Reds Champion Amir Sarkhosh of Iran in the last session match of SEAWAYS - IBSF World Snooker Championship 2014 here in Bengaluru.

Kuwata made his intentions clear from the beginning where he scored a break of 53 points to pocket opening frame. Though Sarkhosh replied by posting two successive breaks of 56 and 59 points in next frame to make it 1-all but Kuwata again secured the closely fought third frame and gained 2-1 lead.

Brijesh Damani had a good win on his birthday


The birthday boy Brijesh Damani of India registered a good win on his important day. He defeated Sweden's Farhan Mirza 4-2.

In the opening frame Brijesh had some difficulties and missed couple of chances but in the next frame he replied with a break of 51 points and leveled 1-all. Though he again lost the third frame by a margin of 55 points but that was all for him as after that in all frames he kept Mirza on edge and won the match 4-2 convincingly.
