Rafath Habib hits high break of the day in 6Reds

Indian player Rafath Habib's 73 points clearance remained the high break of the day in 6Reds. He scored this break in fourth frame during his match against Alal Mimun Himad of Morocco. Though Rafath lost the match 4-3 but everybody had seen tough contest among the two to win the match.

The other big breaks during the day remained 69 & 66 by Darren Morgan (Wales), 67 each by Soheil Vahedi (Iran), Muhammad Asif (Pakistan) and Omar Alkojah (Syria) and 63 by Faisal Khan (India).

Drastic loss for Soheil Vahedi

Mohamed Ibrahim of Egypt snatched his first 6Reds match making an upset of the day. He defeated former World No.4, Soheil Vahedi by winning the decider frame. Soheil Vahedi gave a brilliant start with a break of 67 points and had no major trouble in next two frames as well. Even in the fourth frame he had scored 32 points but it was the day for Mohamed Ibrahim who pulled that frame by scoring a break of 42 points.

2014 IBSF World Team & 6Reds announced open

The 2014 IBSF World Team & 6Reds Championships announced open after the grand opening ceremony that took place last night at the International Sports Development Centre here in Sharm-el-Sheikh, Egypt.

The ceremony started with procession of all teams participating in the championships. After that the Chief Guest Mr. Khaled Fouda, Governor of South Sinai played the first shot of the championship and welcomed all players & delegates in Sharm-el-Sheikh. The President of African Billiards & Snooker Federation and General Secretary of IBSF, Mohammed El Kammah accompanied Governor for the opening shot.


On the occasion, the IBSF President, Mr. Jim Leacy congratulated the Egyptian Federation for their hard work put in to host these championships in Egypt. He hoped that everybody will enjoy, the championship and their stay, in Sharm-el-Sheikh and everyone will return home with happy memories. Later he announced the championship open for next 11 days. He

The opening ceremony ended with the glittering performance of professional dancing and musical group who presented Egyptian cultural programme. The opening ceremony was televised on NILESAT covering nearly 50 countries.
