So Man Yan outclass Vidya Pillai at group stage

Despite a brilliant start, the Indian player Vidya Pillai suffered shock defeated against Hong Kong player So Man Yan on the first day of World 6Reds Women Championship 2019 here in Mandalay, Myanmar


Vidya started with a high quality clearance break of 51 points to take away first frame but after that she failed to control and lost back to back next three frames and the match 1-3.

Another Hong Kong girl and former World champion Ng On Yee, however, won her match very quick on time. She defeating Indian girl Keerthana Pandian in straight set of frames 3-0. She also made breaks of 45 and 31 in second and third game.

Earlier in the morning session, another World champion Waratthanun Sukritthanes of Thailand defeated India’s national champion Varshaa Sanjeev 3-1. Waratthanun started with break of 35 and then another 37 in third and then the fourth game scoring 37-16. Varshaa managed to score only one frame i.e. second where she made 39 against 8.

The only Indian player won so far in Women’s category was Arantxa Sanchis who registered 3-1 victory over Yee Ting Cheung.
