Towards the end Round Robin stage last session of Myanmar Open Billiards 2019, former World champion, Praput Chaithanasukan of Thailand caused major upset by defeating multiple time World champion Peter Gilchrist by 274 points.

After winning four matches in a row, Peter found himself bit struggling in the last match and managed to score only single break of 52 points. On the other side, Praput was steady and started with break of 96 points and then 172 followed by 51 to leave Peter way behind. Once a huge lead obtained, it was mere formality for Praput to reach 400 points and he did.

However, despite this lose, Peter maintained his top-position in the group and entered in knockout stage as group topper.

For the knockout Stage, Alok Kumar grabs the top-seed slot being only player with no match lose.
