Alok shock World No.2 Nay Thway Oo to top the group

Former Asian Billiards Champion, Alok Kumar from India shocked current World No.2 and Asian Billiards Champion 2019 Nay Thway Oo of Myanmar by good victory margin in the Myanmar Open Billiards Championship 2019.


Alok was in commanding form throughout the match. He made two century and 86 points break to maintain lead over Nay Thway. The final score of the match was 400-132. After this win Alok qualifies for the knockout stage (Last-16) as group topper.

Meanwhile Mike Russell also won all four group matches to secured top-position in the group B. His last match was against twice Asian Champion Dhruv Sitwala of India which he won by 123 points (400-277).

In another match, Australian player Jason Colebrook survived in his second match against Kyaw Naing Oo of Myanmar. The contest was very close and could have gone in anyone’s favour but towards the end, Jason controlled well and won by 13 points (401-387).
