First day of 2013 IBSF World Team Snooker and World 6Reds championship started here in Carlow with two sessions of team event.

In 10 O'clock session, women team players from England played better and defeated team Hong Kong 1 which includes former World Champion Ng On Yee.

The opening frame was between Hannah Jones (England ) and Ng On Yee (HKG). Both the players played excellent shots and made impressive safeties in between to curb each other but in the end Jones pipped Ng On Yee on black ball 64-61.

In the next single's frame, Maria Catalano thrashed another Hong Kong player So Man Yan 72-18. In the doubles match Ng On Yee had a break of 31 which was brilliantly countered by Hannah scoring 36 points but a loose shot on Yellow cost the frame 45-63. Final result 2-1 in favour of England.

However, the second team of Hong Kong comprises of Ip Wan In Jaique and Yu Ching defeated team Russia1 (Anastasia Nechaeva and Daria Sirotina) 2-1.

Jaique won the first frame against Anastasia but Ching lost to Daria and match rested at level. In third frame of doubles, Hong Kong players made it one sided affair and did not allow Russia to score even a single point to win the frame 79-00 and match 2-1.

In Masters event, team Wales comprises of reigning Masters (Individual) champion, Darren Morgan and Ian Sargeant completely thrashed players of team France, Gillies Grzeskowiak and Marc Chouillier 5-Nil in Group A match.

First frame was between Darren Morgan and Gillies Grzeskowiak where Darren did not allow Frenchman to pot a single ball and sealed the frame 98-00. The Next frame went close initially between Ian Sargeant and Marc Chouillier but later Ian pulled that well and won 71-32. In doubles frame, a break of 58 by team Wales was enough to win the match. Later in next two reverse single's frames Welshman closed the proceedings by winning 85(67)-07, 58-06.

Team Belgium defeated Team Ireland4 3-2 in a closely fought match. Mario Van Herk of Belgium lost the first frame against George O'Hera 01-56 but in the next frame Alain Vandersteen (Belgium) leveled the match 1-1 by defeating Brenadn Thomas 63-36. In Doubles frame, Mario and Alain played stable to go one up over Team Ireland4 71-45. The same performance carried forward by by Alain in next frame of reverse singles to confirm match win to Team Belgium. However, Mario further lost the last frame to Brendan on black ball game 54-58.

Brijesh Damani - India

In Men's category, despite having borrowed cues, both Indian teams confirmed their matches against England1 and England2. Where India1 (Manan Chandra & Brijesh Damani) won comfortably, team India2 (Shahbaaz Khan and Shivam Arora) had lost last two frames after confirming the match win by winning first 3 frames. Brijesh scored a break of 77 points and Shivam 79 in their respective matches.

Worth mentioning, Indian Men players had to borrowed cues for today's match as they did not receive cues in flight transit. Now they have received their cues and will play from their own cues from tomorrow onwards.

Alex Toubman of team Wales1 remained the first player to score century break (100 points) in the last frame against Chau Hon Man of team Hong Kong 2. Team Wales1 won 5-Nil .
