After showcasing master-class performance in quarter-final match, India’s ace cueist, Pankaj Advani knocked out former World Champion Peter Gilchrist to reach in the semi-final stage of the 2017 IBSF World Billiards championship (Long up format) here in Doha, Qatar.

Advani was in commanding form since the start of the match. He posted first break of 391 points to take handsome lead. Even then he sent another contribution of 257 and leave Gilchrist way behind. Though Gilchrist also had few breaks (69, 99, 104 and 166) in between but that wasn’t enough for him to contest against speedy performance of Advani.

When everyone was expecting quick closure of the match, Gilchrist gave a last attempt with a phenomenal recovery break, but before he could reach in comfort zone, he hit a thick for cannon and missed that to end break on 296 points. After that Advani scored required 83 points to step in the semi-finals.
