Indian player Kamal Chawla has reached in the final of 2017 IBSF World 6Reds Snooker championship here at Hurghada, Egypt.

Chawla defeated Babar Masih of Pakistan 5-3 in the semi-final to meet the defending champion, Darren Morgan of Wales. Darren has reached the final from second half ousting Hong Kong player Lee Chun Wai 5-2.

It remained a tough contest between India’s Kamal Chawla and Pakistan’s Babar Masih, as both had never played any world championship final and were keen to make their first appearance into that. But Chawla maintained his strong hold towards the end of the match and confirm his berth.

Initially both won alternate frames to stay at par. Though there were no big breaks from either of them but the contest remained stiff and calculative game of snooker was on display.

In seventh frame, Babar was leading by 25 points with 25 remaining on table, when Chawla planted a snooker to get back into the game and cleared that 35-30 in his favour.

In eighth frame he took initial lead but after accumulating around 20 points, he gave an easy chance to Babar. It must be pressure, that Babar failed to use that chance and missed a red after scoring 7 points. Here, Chawla shown his class and precisely picked remaining balls one by one to knockout Babar by 38-12 and confirm his next bout with Darren.

In the other semi-final, it wasn’t that tough for Darren, as he curtailed Lee Chun Wai to NO Score in four frames out of total seven they player.

Darren made three breaks of 32, 71 and 32 in the entire match and closed the proceedings 5-2 in his favour.
