Excellent comeback by Ching Chiu Poon to stay in competition

Ching Chiu Poon of Hong Kong was under threat of losing match by missing first two frames narrowly, but timely recovery not only saved the match but also made him stay in the champioinship

Ching was playing against Ivan Kakovsky of Russia in the late evening session match. Ivan who was desperately looking to win after the loss of his first match, pulled out first two frames by a narrow margin.

Ching was also in the same position with one loss and this match was crucial for him to stay in the title race. But after being down two frames, he had no option except to bring out his best, which he did by winning next two frames having decent victory margin to set decider against Ivan.

As Ivan was also looking for the match win, he took charge and gained 8 points lead but towards the end he missed out couple of important chances, which Ching utilised and potted the colours till pink to save the match.

For Ching its now must win a situation in next match to qualify for knockout stage.
