Rees struggles before match win; Peigan, Yun Fung wins with small turbulence.

Walsh player Tyler Rees gave an excellent start to his first match in 2017 IBSF World Under-18 Snooker championship here at Beijing, China. He won comfortably the opening frame against Iran player Shervin Omidvar, but the second frame was tough for him where Shervin made a good recovery and pulled that in his favour by 3 points.

The sea-saw battle began and both landed into the decider frame, which was obviously tough task for both of them. However, at that stage, Rees held his nerve better and posted a well compiled match winning break of 63 points to register first win for him in this tournament.

Peifan Lei of China recovered well on time to post 3-1 win over Thai player Phuttakarn Kimsuk. Phuttakarn started with an opening break of 58 points to take 1-0 lead but after that Peifan takes over all command and won next three frames in a row with a match winning break of 55 points to close the proceedings 3-1.

Yun Fung Tam of Hong Kong was in good form and settled his match against Keishin Kamihashi of Japan 3-1. After losing the second frame 51-71, he did not give any chance to Keishin and won rest of the frames 74(58)-01 and 74-03.
