Pankaj Advani from India, who missed out the medal in Long-Up format, gets back on his rhythm and confirmed his place in the medals round of 2016 IBSF World Billiards Point format. In the quarter-final he knocked out the reigning Asian champion Dhruv Sitwala by 5 games to 2.
Advani taken over the control from the start itself and did not allow Dhruv even to open his account in first two games. He scored two unfinished breaks of 150 and 152 points to lead by 2 games. Even in third game Dhruv managed to score only 5 points before Advani raised the lead to 3-nil.
However, Dhruv somehow managed to secure two games to cut down the lead but in next two games Advani powered himself with the breaks of 123 and 96 to send back Dhruv despite all his efforts with the breaks of 69 and 86.
Advani will now take on Aung Htay of Myanmar in the semi-final.
