Michael Judge from Ireland curtailed former World Champion Muhammad Asif of Pakistan in the Last-32 stage and defeated him out 5-3 to move in the pre-quarter finals of 2016 IBSF World Snooker Championship here at Doha, Qatar.

Judge gave a good start to the match and further accelerated well to take up 3-1 lead. He also crafted two breaks of 63 and 66 in the procession to mount some pressure on Asif.

However, Asif retaliated by winning two frames in a row having break of 60 in 6th but much would've been done, which he couldn’t as Judge pocketed next two frames to clear up his position.

Though the entire match had no big break and few frames were scrappy too but Judge gave them full justice with his fine precision and clear potting most of the time.

He will now take on Manan Chandra of India, who defeated the young sensation from China, Yuan Sijun.

This match was also an exciting one. Yuan had dominated the initial rounds with the first frame win on black ball and later two breaks of 70 and 81 to take up 3-1 lead.

But after that, Chandra tightened the string and pulled up the fifth frame on by a very close margin to narrow down the deficit.

This must have remained a good boost for him as he did not look behind and recovered well to win the match 5-3.
