After succeeding in World 6Reds and World Under-18, Siripaporn Nuanthakhamjan of Thailand was eyeing to win World Under-21 girls snooker to make a hat-trick of titles but her compatriot Nutcharat Wongharuthai restricted her to do so and won the final 5-4 to become new IBSF World Under-21 Girls Snooker champion for the year 2016.
Nutcharat played her natural game and focused to keep up the lead throughout the match. After losing first frame, she won next two frames to come ahead and since then she never allowed Siripaporn to overtake her.
She knew that any loose string given to Siripaporn will be costlier and so she planned the entire match. Though Siripaporn tried her best and managed to set the decider but Nutcharat was always on lead and in the end an excellent clearance of all colour balls made her champion of World Under-21 Girls snooker.
The joint bronze went to Varsha Sanjeev of India and Kamila Khodjaeva of Belgium.
