A high quality final ended in favour of Xu Si of China and he is now the Champion of 2016 IBSF World Under-21 Snooker competition. He defeated Alexander Ursenbacher, who is now the first ever Swiss player from Switzerland to reach in the final of any IBSF event.

Xu is now the 6th consecutive player from Asia to win the title, and the fifth Chinese player since the inception of World Under-21 event.

Today's match was one of the best finals that went till the end and maintained full suspense that who will be the winner.

Though Alexander won the first frame but Xu took 2-1 lead by winning next two frames 72-34 and 78-46.

Alexander replied to him with a break of 67 points and pocketed fourth frame. He also won the next frame on black ball to go ahead 3-2.

However, Xu once again clinched the sixth frame to level the match 3-all but Alexander shown his skills with a well crafted break of 62 points to win seventh frame and then the eighth to lead 5-3.

It could be Alexander's day to become first ever IBSF champion from Switzerland but he failed to do so despite having lead of 30 odd points in ninth frame. On the other side, Xu held his nerve better and constructed small but worthy break of 41 points that allowed him to go ahead of Alexander.

After winning the ninth frame, Xu did no look behind and crafted two breaks of 59 and 69 points to win the title.

Although Alexander had chance in last frame too but Xu had his day to become champion and he performed better than anyone.

Being semi finalists, Lukas Kleckers of Germany and Ka Wai Cheung of Hong Kong shared joint bronze.
