Unseeded Kamila Khodjaeva from the host nation Belgium shocked and defeated the two times World Team Snooker bronze medallist Varsha Sanjeev of India in straight set of frames 3-nil.
The first frame was tight and went till the last black ball where Kamila held her nerve and won it by two points 53-51. The second frame remained tricky for Varsha which Kamila pocketed by a good margin 51-9.
Already down 2 frames, Varsha fought hard in the last frame but Kamila played better and sealed the frame 66-45 to make first upset of Under-21 Girls Competition.
After the match, elated Kamila posted on social media "I was so scared in my first frame by not knowing what was my level and what kind of shots I can shoot so won it hill hill... then the two next frames was easier for me!"
Simon Lichtenberg of Germany showered breaks
Meanwhile Simon Lichtenberg of Germany showered breaks in the Under-21 Boys competition. He was playing against Tudor Popescu of Romania and every frames played between them saw a modest breaks.
Tudor constructed first break of 54 points and took first lead but after that Simon was in-charge and he made breaks of 63, 64, 60 and 52 in rest of the frames to close the proceeding 4-1.
Shane Bates of Ireland crafted first century break
However, Shane Bates of Ireland crafted first century break of the Under-21 Boys competition. He constructed break of 106 points in third frame of his match against Matei Rosca of Romania. Later Shane won the match 4-2.
