Jackson wins his maiden world title

Jackson Page - Wales Jackson Page - Wales

Welsh boy Jackson Page won the decider of the 2016 IBSF World Under-18 Boys championship final and claimed his career's maiden world title.

In the final he defeated Yun Fung Tam of Hong Kong 5-4.

Yun took over good control and crafted 66 points break in third frame to gain 2-1 lead but couldn’t affect Page as he immediately replied with a decent break of 53 points in fourth frame and levelled again.

Again they both pocketed alternate frames to stay at par but in seventh frame Page got a chance and he pushed himself ahead to win the frame 93-20 and gained lead first time.

Eighth frame saw a dramatic end where Yun was leading 30-14. Page recovered to go ahead to lead 38-30. With the last red on table, Yun planted a brilliant snooker behind green and obtained 21 points in foul and miss. The score was 51-30.

After few safe shots, Page got a chance and it appeared that he will clear the table but missed a simple brown in green pocket and Yun sealed the frame to set decider.

The decider was well controlled by Page and he scored 57 against 38 to claim the 2016 IBSF World Under-18 Boys title.

Mihai Vladu of Romania and Chris Totten shared joint bronze being the semi finalsts.
