Raheem excel to knock-out 6th seed Arman

Abdul Raheem of Pakistan powered his way into the quarter finals of the IBSF World Under-18 Snooker Championship being played here at St.Petersburg, Russia. He defeated 6th seed Arman Atashsokhan of Iran in pre-quarters 4-0.

The score line reflects a one-sided match but it was not that easy for Abdul where he was constantly receiving high resistance and stiff competition from the Iranian player Arman.

The first frame was too close that Abdul finished on black ball. After that he got chance and dominated well the second frame to win 70-38. In third frame, Abdul once again faced turbulences but he controlled well in the end and sealed the frame 88-77. By that time Abdul had made space for him and outplayed Arman in fourth frame 65-39 to reach in quarter finals.

In another match, Ka Wai Cheung of Hong Kong thrashed India's Kaavya Bharath in straight set of frames 4-0. Cheung was too good against Kaavya started firing from all cylinders since start. He scored break of 65 points in opening frame and after that did not allow Kaavya to settle down at any stage. Kaavya failed to reached the double-digit score in first three frames and soon he falter in fourth frame too giving clear space to Cheung.
