A good Friday morning for spectators at Oceania Snooker Academy

Peter Gilchrist - Singapore Peter Gilchrist - Singapore IBSF Media

It was indeed a good morning for the spectators of 2015 IBSF World Billiards (Timed) Championship at Adelaide where they watched the brilliantly crafted 500+ break by Peter Gilchrist of Singapore during his third league match against Henry Chetcuti of Austraia. Gilchrst was on a good run and crafted three century breaks (100, 110, 131) and in second half of the match he went for the big one i.e. 539.

Gilchrist was picking up shots precisely and each shot was putting him on the position as he wanted to but after crossing 500 mark, he started getting troubles. Tried his best to recover but balls split badly and yellow went to the cushion behind baulk-line. He attempted off-cushion cannon but unfortunately, the cue ball hit jaw of centre pocket instead the cushion and the break terminated.

Even after that he scored two century breaks of 113 and 120 points to defeat Henry Chetcuti by 1401 points, which is now the highest victory margin so far of this championship.

On adjacent tabl,e Sourav Kothari of India also reached close to 1000 score having breaks of 89, 115, 158, 84, 74 and 98 while playing against Christopher Coyne of Australia. Kothari defeated Coyne 949-167.
