Gilchrist, the 2015 world champion (point format)

Gilchrist, who stayed consistent throughout the championships had actually routed all one-sided and planned the same for the final. With that focus, he started in today's final and capitalized first two games despite having good resistance by Pankaj. Though he lost the third game, but bounced back in fourth game to enhance the lead to 3-1.

Fifth game was interesting where Peter missed on a break of 124 and Pankaj cleared with an excellent break of 92 to narrow down the lead 2-3 at interval.

In second session, Peter had a break of 144 but a chance allowed Pankaj to recover, which he failed and fall short. Peter cleared that and raised the lead to 4-2.

Pankaj tried to gear up again in seventh game with a break of 100 but Gilchrist conquered well and widened the gap 5-2.

However, Pankaj succeeded in next two games with the breaks of 151 and 143 to narrow down the lead 4-5 but in 10th game, Gilchrist crafted magnificent unfinished break of 150 points to win the match and championship.

The semi final losers, Sourav Kothari of India and Nalin Patel shared the joint bronze medal.

Time format will start from tomorrow 10:00 AM (Adelaide Time) and the Prize distribution ceremony for all the championships will be held on 27th September.
