Tetsuya Kuwata of Japan shocked the reigning Asian 6Reds Champion Amir Sarkhosh of Iran in the last session match of SEAWAYS - IBSF World Snooker Championship 2014 here in Bengaluru.
Kuwata made his intentions clear from the beginning where he scored a break of 53 points to pocket opening frame. Though Sarkhosh replied by posting two successive breaks of 56 and 59 points in next frame to make it 1-all but Kuwata again secured the closely fought third frame and gained 2-1 lead.
After that Kuwata made every move cautiously and pocketed next two frames to outclass Amir 4-1. With this win, Kuwata kept his hopes alive to qualify for knockouts.
Nick Jennings cleared his match in a great style. A tough match between him and Robert Murphy of Ireland landed in the decider where Nick posted magnificent break of 120 points and won the match 4-3.
Similarly, India's Laxman Rawat also posted the match winning break of 97 points in decider frame to beat Mohamed Khairy of Egypt. The frame was more or less scrappy and both were struggling for a proper opening. At a score 13-12, Laxman got first opening and that he converted into 97 points match winning break.
Mohsen Bukshaisha of Qatar remained lucky in the decider frame and saved his match scoring 24 points break. He beat Antonis Poullos of Cyprus 4-3.
Antonis had a bright chance to clear nominal lead and win the match but unlikely he missed the last red on rest shot. That chance was enough for Mohsen to capitalize into scoring shots and he made 24 points break to outplay Antonis.
