Five European players finds place in top-8 of World Under-21

Five European Players have succeeded to win their respective matches to enter in quarter finals of World Under-21 Snooker Championship here at Al-Fujairah. These players are Lee Mein (Scotland), Mateusz Baranowski (Poland), Lukas Kleckers (Germany), Luke Garland (England), and Josh Boileau (Ireland).

Amongst them, the Scottish player Lee Mein;s win remained an important one as he had no time to relax before pre-quarters. He had an exhausted Last 32 match that he won the decider against Hamza Akbar of Pakistan and despite all tire-ness, he defeated Kurt Brown of Australia in last-16 to step in Quarters.

He will now play against Josh Boileau who is now the only hope for Ireland in this competition. Josh defeated Pakistan's Majid Ali in a one-sided affair 5-1.

Another best performance was of Poland's Mateusz Baranowski, who defeated Alireza Rezaei in straight set of frames 5-0. Though Baranowski had not scored any big break but he constant scoring did not allow Alireza to settle at any stage. Baranowski's opponent in quarter finals will be Lukas Kleckers of Germany who knockout Thailand's player Boonyarit Keattikun 5-3.

Meanwhile Ryan Thomerson from Australia is still continuing his fray to put himself into danger zone and to win from thereon. This is his successive fourth decider frame win in this com. In knockouts he defeated Adem Gerwash (Libya) 4-3 in Last-48, Ishpreet Chadha (India) 5-4 in Last-32 and now in Pre-Quarters he was down 4-0 against Dylan Craig of Australia and more so 32 points behind in fifth frame with 27 on board. From there he placed snooker which Dylan missed leaving free ball that Ryan opted to pot green and went ahead clearing all colours to win the frame followed by successive frame wins to knockout Dylan.
