Sam Harvey of England had to fought hard before entering Pre-Quarter finals of World Under-21 Snooker here in Al-Fujairah, UAE. Sam defeated India's Ashutosh Padhy 4-3 despite trailing 0-3 initially.
Ashutosh gave a fantastic start and had already pocketed first three frames when Sam countered him in fourth and marked the first dent. He responded more decisive in next frame where he scored a break of 68 points and won the sixth frame aswell to stand at par with Ashutosh.
However, Ashutosh replied with another frame win but Sam was more focused to revert with consecutive frame wins to confirm his berth in Pre-Quarters.
Sam will now take on his compatriot Luke Garland who defeated Iran's Siyavosh Mojayani 5-2. After losing first frame, Luke took charge and kept winning consecutive three frames go gain handsome lead. He though missed another frame but that remained last frame for Siyavosh before he conceded 2-5 to Luke.
Josh Boileau of Ireland still holding the baton for Ireland when other four have already been eliminated from the 2014 Under-21 competition. The main disappointment for Ireland remained from their David Cassidy who lost to Mateusz Baranowski of Poland. The match had stretched till the decider frame where Mateusz performed better to score 67 against 7 from David.
Just now Lee Mein of Scotland also registered a sensational 5-4 win over Hamza Akbar of Pakistan. The match went till last black ball and remained most exciting match of Last 32 stage.
