In the presence of Mr. Jim Leacy, IBSF President, Mr. Jury Shabashov, LRBF President and Ms. Jana Cirule from "TeleTrade" (The main sponsor), Mr. Janis Lachplesis, Mayor of Daugavpils announced the 2013 IBSF World Championship open for next 11 days.
Mr. Lachplesis welcomed all participants in Daugavpils and wished everybody a pleasant stay in Daugavpils.
Mr. Jim Leacy, on behalf of IBSF, thanked the Latvian government and LRBF for their efforts to host this championship. He also thanked all the sponsors who are supporting the event.
The matches will start from tomorrow at Daugavpils Olympic Centre having a format of best of 7 frames for Men and best of 5 Masters and Women.
In Men's category, total 119 players are divided in 20 groups to play round robin whereas in Masters 69 players in 11 groups and in Women 41 players in 6 groups.
