Before that, Ashok was leading 3-Nil scoring two century breaks of 131 and 154 in second and third games but Wilson pulled subsequent three frames scoring four breaks of 58, 76, 54 and 60 points and forced Shandilya to play the decider where both the players gave much chances to each other but later Shandilya managed to knockout Wilson.

Another interesting match was between former World Champion Peter Gilchrist and former bronze medalist Sourav Kothari.

Sourav gave a sizzling start by crafting 124 points but Gilchrist overruled that and produced two breaks of 66 and 144 points to pull next two games and gained 2-1 lead. However, Kothari returned with 91 points to level that again but much experienced Gilchrist gave no further chance to Kothari and knocked him out by producing two breaks of 93 and 91 points.

In last session match an upset came from Table No.3 where Arun Agrawal from India knocked out his compatriot and 9 time world champion, Geet Sethi.

Geet won the first game but failed to continue momentum in next two games. Fourth game also slipped from the hands of Geet where he lost by 8 points despite having a good break of 98 points.

However, he managed to pull one more game but again in 6th game, he failed to give finishing touch even after scoring 101 points break. Without wasting further time Agrawal sealed the match with a break of 97 points.
