South African masters player Abdul Mutalieb Allie won the deciding frame in a very competitive match against Steven Thomas of Wales and confirmed his entry in the Last-16 stage of World Masters Snooker Championship 2019 here in Antalya, Turkey.

He was down 1-2 after having seen a break of 61 from Thomas but that did not dither him and he recovered with next two wins to take 3-2 lead. However, Thomas made a recovery and levelled the match to set decider where Abdul dominated and sealed the match 4-3 in his favour.

In last-16 Adbul will meet Mark Tuite of Ireland who sailed to pre-quarters defeating Alun Squire of Wales 4-1. There wasn’t any big break but he registered good win in next four frames after losing first.

In other matches, Darren Morgan of Wales won by posting three breaks of 63, 40 and 82 to defeat Chinese player Tian Wan Shun 4-1. Second frame was interesting where Tian posted break of 48 and Darren shown his masterclass recovery by sending recovery break of 40.
