The second match of Last-18 stage was delayed for deciding frame as it wasn’t finished before the next session began. However, the match was between Sara Baharvandi of Iran and Joy Lyn Willenberg of South Africa where Joy defeated Sara 3-2.
Despite having good lead in first frame, Joy lost that only by 3 points but after that she pulled back two frames and controlled the situation well. Joy had chance to close the proceedings as her position was strong in fourth frame but towards the end, she failed to grip properly and lost narrowly 53-66. That took the match for the deciding frame.
After break, the match started again at 3 PM and quickly Joy taken over the control and obtained good lead to push back Iranian player Sara. Though Sara tried to recover but failed to do so and Joy won the match 3-2.
In Last-16 stage, Joy will meet Ng On Yee of Hong Kong.
