On day-1 of the play, Iranian player and former World No.2 Amir Sarkhosh hit two century breaks of 138 and 115 followed by 85 in first three frames to defeat Austrian player Elias Kapitany 4-0.
After witnessing three classy breaks, Elias attempted a recovery break of 51 but Amir played steady in the fourth frame and scored 65 in few visits to close the proceeding 4-0.
Second highest break was by three time World Snooker champion Pankaj Advani of India who made 121 in opening frame against Per Micki Christensen of Denmark. Pankaj also won 4-0 comfortably.
Former World 6Reds Champion Passakorn Suwannawat of Thailand faced initial turbulence and lost first frame 30-69 against Alvin Barbero of Philippines. Even in second frame, Alvin obtained good lead but Passakorn controlled the situation and made that level scoring 69-42. In last two frames he sent contribution of 61 and 52 point breaks to seal the match 4-1.
